Earl Maurice Zimmerman, 74, of Goldfield, died Sunday (Dec. 19, 1999) at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Renwick. Burial will be in the Vernon Township Cemetery in Hardy, with Military graveside rites performed by the Harvey-McPeak Post #289 of Renwick. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Renwick.

Earl Maurice Zimmerman was born on April 8, 1925, at Renwick, Iowa, the son of John and Marie Hefti Zimmerman. He attended rural school and was a 1942 graduate of the Renwick High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After his return from the service, he helped farm and milk cows on the family farm. He was married to Arleene Mitchell on February 21, 1954, at Alden, Iowa. They lived on the family farm all their married life. He was a longtime member of the Renwick Methodist Church. He served several years on the R. E. C. Board and was an honorary member
of the Izaak Walton League. Besides milking cows and farming, he operated a gravel pit and a gravel truck, selling gravel to different counties and railroads. He retired from farming in 1997 and kept on driving his gravel truck.Earl M. Zimmerman died Sunday, December 19, 1999, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion, Iowa, at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife, Arleene, of rural Goldfield, Iowa; two sons, Randy Zimmerman, and wife, Julie, Renwick, and Rick Zimmerman and friend, Kay Siela, Renwick; two grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Zimmerman, and wife, Sue, Spring Green, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 22, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Renwick with Reverend Karen Dearchs officiating. Burial was held in the Vernon Township Cemetery in Renwick with a Military Flag presentation by Harvey-McPeak Post #289 of Renwick. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf of Renwick was in charge of arrangements.
