Northville Man Buried Dec. 17th

R. D. James Culmer, fourth son of John and Sarah Culmer was born at Northville, LaSalle county, Illinois on February 28th, 1880. He was christened in Northville Methodist church. He departed this life December 14, 1931 at the age of 51. In June 24, 1903, he was married to Myrtle M. Fish, who died February 12, 1914. to this union there were born four children, Marie Adams, of Iona, Michigan, Clarisse Karrar, of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Franklin R. D., United States Marines, stationed at Great Lakes, Illinois, and Dorothy Branson, Saranac, Michigan. On March 29, 1916 he was married to Mrs. Elizabeth M. Schuning. Surviving him are, his wife, eight grandchildren, a mother of 88 years, three brothers, William of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Charles, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Dallas, of Woodstock [Woolstock], Iowa, four sisters, Kate Wroot, Corona, California, Mary Beebe and Abbie Elwood, of Somonauk, Goldie Schumaker, of Sandwich and one stepson, Walter Schuning, of Plano. The father, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, December 17th at 2:30 p. m. at the home of Frank Elwood of Somonauk and the body was laid to rest in Oak Ridge cemetery. Elder J. M. Blakely of Plano officiated.

Mary Schuning, and Mr. Roy Gregory, of Plano, Mr. Alfred Tisler, and Mrs. John Loux and her daughter of Serena; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Skau, and Mr. George Kimpan, of Hinckley; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Karrar and Mr. William Culmer, of Lake Odessa, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. James Overright, of Leland; Mrs. Clarence Adams, and Mrs. Nancy Adams, of Iona, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Brausen of Michigan...
