09/03/1996ROWAN -- Elba Cook, 70, died Sunday (Sept. 1, 1996) at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Rowan with the Rev. JoAn Lent Skyrme and Mark Young of the Clarion Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, with military honors by the Rowan American Legion. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Willim Funeral Home, Clarion, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Elba Cook was born Aug. 29, 1926, at Maxwell. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, of Rowan; two daughters, Deborah Morris of Fort Dodge, and Leigh Ann Rounds of Florence, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and one stepsister, Geraldine Griffith of Maxwell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
