BELMOND -- George Wessels, 84, died Saturday (Nov. 30, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Reformed Church with the Rev. Melvin Voss officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Tenold Funeral Home.

George Wessels was born May 18, 1912 in Avery Township. Survivors include his wife, Emma of Belmond; two sons, Jerald Wessels and Ardell Boelman, both of Belmond; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
