HEFTI, CLANCY, STOAKES, ZIMMERMAN, BLESIE, MAUER, STOCKDALE

Funeral services for William E. Hefti, 84, Goldfield, brother of Edwin Hefti of Lu Verne and Mrs. Marshall (Wilma) Clancy of Hardy, were held Tuesday, Nov. 15 [1988], at the Lake Lutheran Church in Goldfield, with burial in the Vernon Township Cemetery near Renwick. He died Saturday, Nov. 12 (1988), at the Mercy Hospital in Mason City, where he had been a patient since Nov. 7.
The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements, with the Rev. Oliver Everson officiating.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ken (Phyllis) Stoakes of Goldfield; two grandchildren; two other brothers, Walter of Lincoln, NE, and Gilbert of Tallahassee, FL; and another sister, Marie Zimmerman of Clarion. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sarah in 1986; one son, Wilton; one brother, Albert; and one sister, Mrs. Dudley (Helen) Blesie.

William Hefti, son of John and Bertha (Mauer) Hefti, was born March 4, 1904, in Vernon Township near Lu Verne. He attended rural schools and Vernon Consolidated School. In 1928 he married Sarah Stockdale of Lake Township at her parents' home, west of Goldfield. They farmed north of Renwick and later north-west of Goldfield, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Lake Lutheran Church, served on the Goldfield Co-op Elevator Board, and on the Farmers Electric Board.
