26 March 1931 - 8 June 1982

Funeral services for Mrs. Alpha Noonan, 51, Eagle Grove, were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday [June 10, 1982] at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eagle Grove, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Noonan died Tuesday afternoon at the Rotary Ann Home after a lengthy illness. A Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, and a parish rosary was held at 7:30.
Casketbearers for the service were Dean Underberg, Erik Underberg, John Underberg, John Yoder, Tony Tomke, and Terry Tomke. Fr. John Henann officiated.

Surviving are her husband, James; daughter, Barbara Ann Noonan, Eagle Grove; son, Michael Noonan, Willmar, Minn.; one granddaughter; her mother, Mrs. Etta Underberg, Bode; sisters, Mrs. Marie Olson, Bode; Mrs. Robert (Helen) Pfaff, Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Duane (Lillian) Benge, Bradgate; Mrs. Robert (Iola) Foley, Livermore; brothers, Irwin Underberg, Eagle Grove; Kenneth Underberg, Livermore; Joe Underberg and Ted Underberg, both of Fort Dodge, and George Underberg, Santa Monica, Calif.

Alpha Underberg was born in Bode, graduated from the Bode High School and attended Luther College at Decorah and received her teaching degree. She taught in the elementary school at Thor, and married James P. Noonan at Livermore in 1952. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove. She and her husband were partners at the Noonan and Tomke Jewelry Store.
