BELMOND - Beverly Ann Robbins, 56, died Thursday (Jan. 4, 2001) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Belmond, with the Rev. David Beckman as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Belmond. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, with a parish rosary beginning at 3 p.m. and a scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church Monday.

Beverly Ann (Buseman) Robbins, the daughter of Lester and Ida (Steenblock) Buseman, was born Aug. 31, 1944, at Belmond. She graduated from Belmond High School in 1962. She then attended Waldorf College in Forest City for two years and Northwestern College in Orange City for two years. After graduation she taught in Paulina and Fertile, Iowa. On Dec. 27, 1967, she was united in marriage to Merle Robbins in Forest City. They moved to Belmond in 1968 where she began teaching and substituted in the Belmond School District for over 30 years. Beverly's main interests were her students, anyone that was in need of help and animals. She loved to write letters as her penmanship was beautiful. After her retirement she was looking forward to joining different organizations, driving the Belmond Care Car, and spending time with the residents in the Belmond Health Care Center. Her miniature dachshund, "Spinnie" was very precious to her. Beverly died suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 4, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Those thankful for sharing her life are her husband, Merle, of Belmond; a son, Mike Robbins and his wife, Kathy, of Toledo, Iowa, and their children, Kellie and Jayme; brothers, Harold Buseman and his wife, Donna, of Belmond, Eric Buseman of Des Moines, and Robert Rodemeyer and his wife, Dorothy, of Livonia, Mich.; her mother-in-law, Aggie Robbins, of Belmond; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ida Buseman. Tenold Funeral Home.
