Vernetta A. Waters, 78, Dows, died Friday (Oct. 18, 1996) at the Dows Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Turner officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Elledge Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Vernetta Agnes (Knuths) Waters was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Rowan. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Patterson of Dows and Pat Gumm of West Des Moines; two sons, Paul Waters of Galt and Donald Waters of Dows; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.
