BELMOND — Verna L. Riggs, 95, died Thursday (Nov. 20, 1997) at Belmond Community Hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated. Dugger-Ewing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Verna was born Sept. 2, 1902, in Geneva. Survivors include one daughter, Lelia Lindsey of Caldwell, Ark.; one son, Jack Riggs of Portland, Ore.; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son.
