Mason City (Iowa) Globe GazetteBELMOND — Hilda Lee, 81, died Thursday (Nov. 20, 1997) at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lowell Halvorson officiating. Burial will be in St. Olaf Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Tenold Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may direct them to the Hilda Lee Memorial Fund.
Hilda (Erdman) Lee, the daughter of Phillip and Elizabeth (Groh) Erdman, was born April 30, 1916, at Kanawha. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Belmond. She was united in marriage to Archie Lee on March 5, 1935, at Eagle Grove. To this union five daughters were born, Donna, Phyllis and triplets Leone, Lois and Lavonne. Hilda was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the E.L.C.W. Hilda was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with all her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Phyllis Shook and her husband, Bill, of Johnston, Leone Weinheimer and her husband, Leo, of Fontanelle, son-in-law, Richard Goeman of Midland, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Pringnitz and Minnie Johnson of Belmond; Betty Faulkner and Ann Pierce of Webster City; brother, Harold "Sonny" Erdman of Belmond; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Archie; daughter, Donna Goeman; two infant daughters, Lois and Lavonne; and a sister, Mollie Kalkwarf.
