Annie Hansena Lewis, 89, of Clarion, died Thursday (Aug. 7, 1997) at the Clarion Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Belmond, with the Rev. Lowell Halvorson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Willim Funeral Home, Clarion, with the family present, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Annie Hansena Lewis, daughter of John and Christina (Hillistad) Hill was born July 22, 1908, at Belmond. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Belmond. Annie was united in marriage to Edward O. Lewis on Dec. 15, 1927. They farmed together on the Lewis family farm until moving to Clarion in 1982. Edward died Oct. 12, 1986 and Annie continued living in their home until she entered the Clarion Care Center on Feb. 17, 1989.
Surviving Annie are three children, daughter, Elaine Cline of Goodell, and her children, Robert and Hilla Cline, Edward, Christopher, Ali and Mindy, of Rochester, Minn., Jean and Terry Gray, Brian and Eric of Peoria, Ariz.; daughter, Carol Felleer and her husband, Dale, of Belmond, and their children, Michael and Becky Feller, Jason, Kristin, Kieley and Ashley, of Parker, Colo., Cathy and Robert Benzinger and Kovin of Urbandale, John and Cynthia Feller, Andrew, Ben and Jessica of Ames; son, Jerry Lewis of Des Moines and his children, Mary Lewis of Mason City, Ross Lewis of Des Moines; brother, Herbert Hill and wife, Esther of Belmond; and sister-in-law, Adelaide Hill, of Belmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, John in 1923, and Christina in 1947; her husband, Edward in 1986; son-in-law, Raymond Cline in 1993; sisters, Josie Hill, 1917, and Carrie Olson, 1941; and brothers, Joseph Hill in 1920, Henry Hill in 1985, and Chester Hill in 1997.
