Joan M. Wagner, 74, Webster City
Joan Marlene Wagner, the daughter of William and Clara (Stockdale) Larick, was born on September 13, 1932, at Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1950. On July 14, 1951, Joan was united in marriage with Curtis L. Wagner at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Joan enjoyed life in the fullest way, especially the rural life on the farm she and Curt lived on for most of their married life. She moved to Webster City a few years after losing her husband. She enjoyed playing golf, quilting, cooking and baking for family and friends and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Joan passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 74 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis in 1997 and one daughter, Barbara. She is survived by two daughters, Jana Pitlik and husband Jim of Rock Island, IL and Kristy Anderson and husband Chris of Webster City; two sons, John Wagner and wife Jan of Riverton, UT and Kirk Wagner of Fort Dodge; eight grandchildren: Marissa, Steve, Drew, Tyler, Curtis, John, Katelyn and Mathias; sister, Marguerite (Larick) Donnelly and husband Ed of Webster City; brother, Kenneth Larick and wife Gertrude of Waukon and several nieces and nephews.
Joan’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will hold a visitation on Saturday, May 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be left to Hospice of Fort Dodge, 802 Kenyon Road or the American Heart Association.
