The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Dorothy E. Carpenter of Springfield, Oregon who died May 9 of age-related causes at age 96. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born Aug. 14, 1910, in Eagle Grove, Iowa to Clarence and Alice Inman Johnson. She married James Cory, and he later died. She married Edgar Carpenter on Feb. 3, 1981, in Reno, Nev. He died in 1992. She worked in Creswell as a resident manager for the housing authority. Survivors include a son, Lawrence of Eugene; two grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Gardens.
