Winterset, IowaAlf Krysan Dies At Memorial Hospital
Alf Krysan, a resident of Douglas township for about two years, died this Tuesday, June 28, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He had been admitted to the hospital last Friday. The body was taken to Clarion, where funeral services and burial will be held.

Funeral services were held July 1 from St. John’s Catholic church at Clarion for Alphonso W. Krysan whose death had occurred June 28 at Memorial hospital in Winterset. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. E. Slowey officiated at the Mass. Burial was made in St. John’s cemetery at Clarion. Mr. Krysan had lived northwest of Winterset for about 18 months prior to his death, which followed an illness of several weeks, resulting from cancer. Previously he had surgery at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Festina, Ia., on June 8, 1899, a son of Wenzel and Mary Krysan, and was 61 years of age at his death. He was a veteran of World War I. His active years were spent in farming.
Surviving are his wife, Louise, of near Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Sheffield of Clarion; three grandchildren; a brother, Frank Krysan of Cresco; and a sister, Mrs. Christine Kerleman of Calmar.
