Elnor Irene Jensen, 90, of Coulter, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 1 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Karla Griffen will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 5-7 p.m., at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.

Elnor was born Jan. 28, 1911, in Franklin County, to Guy and Anna Skou Nowell. She graduated from Hampton High School and on Aug. 20, 1930, married Peter Jensen in Clarion. She worked as a cook at the Health Care Center in Hampton from 1963-1979, when she retired. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and playing 500.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Sailer and husband, Jacob, of Hampton, and Karen Janssen and husband, Robert, of Clarksville; two sons, Russell Jensen of Coulter, and James Jensen and wife, Marilyn, of Hampton; 13 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Kenneth, Glenn and Raymond Nowell; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Jensen; and a great-grandson. Memorials may directed to Hospice of North Iowa.
