January 21, 1912 - April 13, 2003

Earl Stahl, 91, of Hampton, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Services will be held Thursday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. Karl Bollhagen will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, from 4-8 p.m. at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.

Earl was born Jan. 21, 1912, to James and Florence Babbitt Stahl at Pershing. He was educated in Hardin County country schools. On June 5, 1933, he married Helen Lochmann in Clarion. He farmed in his early years and worked for Darrell/Dillon Bread Company for 30 years running a bread route, and ran his own bread route for 20 years. Earl was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing and visiting his people on his bread route.

He is survived by two daughters, Diane Froning of Dallas, Texas; and Denise Jarvis and husband Kevin of Jacksonville, Ill.; two sons, Randy, of Plano, Texas and James, and wife Kay of Hampton; three grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin, of Bradenton, Fla. and Walter, of Des Moines; one sister, Mary Fitzpatrick of Culver City, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers and six sisters.
