Ruth M. Baker, 84, of Iowa Falls, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at the Belmond Care Center in Belmond. Services were held Tuesday, Oct, 10 at Bethany Lutheran Church with burial in Union Cemetery, both in Iowa Falls. Memorials may directed to the Bethany Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls.
Ruth was born Oct. 29, 1916, at Duncombe, to Sam and Nettie Nelson Mickelson. She attended Woolstock Community Schools and graduated with the class of 1934. On July 28, 1940, she married Lyle Baker at Woolstock. She had been employed as a sales clerk by J.C. Penney Co. in Iowa Falls. Ruth had resided at the Belmond Care Center since 1996. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls.
Ruth is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Norcross of Humboldt, and Doris Greenwood of Belmond; and one brother, Richard Mickelson and wife, Jackie, of Livermore, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; two sisters, Esther Larson and Bonnie Sharp; and a brother, Clarence Mickelson. Linn's Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
