Elvin (Bud) Johnson, 81, of Iowa Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. Don Preston will officiate.

Bud was born May 31, 1919, in Galt, to Theodore and Ada Meinke Johnson. He attended rural Franklin County schools and on Jan. 11, 1942, he married Otella Miller in Webster City. They farmed in the rural Hampton area and he was a Pioneer Hybrid Seed Corn salesman for 23 years. Bud was a member of the Scenic City Kiwanis, served two terms as president of the Hampton School Board, was a board member of the Franklin County Farm Mutual Board, and a member of the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post No. 188 in Iowa Falls.

He is survived by a son, Gary and wife, Jonnie, of Hampton; two daughters, Dianne Davis and husband, Rick, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Janis Johnson of Grove Beach, Calif.; a sister, Velma Wessenberg of Dows; four grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Kelly Johnson, Stacy Terrill and Brock Johnson; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Otella; a granddaughter, Sarah Johnson; a brother, Lawrence Johnson; and a sister, Lorene Stover. Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements.
