Jessie M. Jacobsen, 85, of Cedar Falls formerly of Coulter, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls. Funeral services will be Monday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter, with burial in the Coulter Cemetery. Rev. Louise Stromberg will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, July 9, from 1-5 p.m. at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.
Jessie was born Oct. 1, 1914, in Dows, to Harvey and Winnie Crabtree Coburn. On Feb. 24, 1934, she married Carl Jacobsen at Rowan. Jessie was a homemaker and very active in church, the library, the senior center, 4-H and the Farm Bureau. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon and her husband, Paul Britzman, of Cedar Falls, and Lana and her husband, Curtis Hochreiter, of Cedar Falls; a sister Eva Schaffer of Modesto, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a granddaughter, Beth; four brothers; and three sisters.
