HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark.-Valerie D. "Val" Evans, 78, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., formerly of Dows, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001. A private funeral service was held at the Village United Methodist Church, Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001. The body was cremated.
Val was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Frackville, Pa., the daughter of Polish immigrants. She served as a Wave in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On April 5, 1945, she married Burl Evans in Key West, Fla. She is survived by her husband, two children, Peggy Lee Evans of Richardson, Texas, and Keith Brian Evans of Elletville, Ind., along with five grandchilrden and three great-grandchildren.
