Everett Howard Burres
January 12, 1920, Deer Creek, Otter Tail, Minnesota -- April 15, 2003, Eagle Grove, Wright, Iowa

Son of Herman and Evelyn (Kluge) Burres. Everett was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Deer Creek High School in 1938. He farmed with his father in Deer Creek, until 1940, when he went to work for a mining company in Grand Rapids, and later moving to Eagle Grove. He served in the United States Army 380th Engineer Combat Battalion, during World War II, from 1942 to 1946. In Feb.,1946, he was united in marriage to Arlene Burras in Grand Rapids. In 1951 they moved to Washington State, where he worked for Atomic Power-G.E. In 1952 they returned to the area, and he was fully engaged in farming near Newark Township and Vincent. In 1961 they moved west of Eagle Grove, where he continued to farm. His wife died in December, 1999. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
