July 18, 1919-November 22, 2006

IOWA FALLS—Dorothy Mae Bach, 87, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 28, at the Church of the Open Bible, Iowa Falls. Burial was in the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Mae Meyer, was born on July 18, 1919 at Iowa Falls, the daughter of Fred and Mollie (Gnade) Meyer. She attended the Iowa Falls Community Schools. On May 30, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harald Bach. Dorothy worked at the drug store for most of the years they lived in Dows. Then she was employed at Riverside Book and Bible in Iowa Falls, as a telephone sales operator. She enjoyed going to Bible Conventions all around the United States with the other salespeople. At the conventions she enjoyed meeting many of the authors of books she sold and also the store owners who retailed those books. But most of all she enjoyed making and sending chocolate chip cookies to her grandchildren and called herself the cookie grandma.

Dorothy Bach is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Nachazel and husband, Lynn of Iowa Falls; her son, Dennis Bach and wife, Mary of Austin, Texas; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Freda Winter of Iowa Falls, Mildred (Robert) Poland of Kewanee, Illinois, Maxine Barton of Yarrington, Nevada, Wilma Wulke of Marshalltown, Arlene Smit of Iowa Falls and Marilyn (Dean) Furman of Bradford; one brother, Leonard (Annabel) Meyer of Iowa Falls; and her brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Maxine Bach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mollie Meyer; her husband, Harald Bach; her brother and his wife, Henry and Ruth Meyer; and four brothers-in-law, Al Barton, George Wulke, Bill Smit and Edgar Winter.
