Arlene Davis, 70, died September 12, 2002 at Council Bluffs. Funeral services were held September 16 in Harlan. Arlene Joyce Slining was born to Eunice (Reed) and Harry Slining on September 19, 1931 at Belmond. She graduated from Belmond High School. She married Donald Davis in 1950. They had seven children and resided in Mason City, Hampton, and then Harlan.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Robert and Duane Slining. Survivors include her husband, Don of Harlan; brothers, Glenn Slining of Silverton, Oregon, Harry Slining, Jr., of Babbitt, Minnesota; sisters, Mildred McCree of Des Moines, Joan Kuester of Belmond, and Janet Thornton of Huxley.
