Mildred Martha Miller, 97, of Colonial Manor Care Center, Amana, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, in the care center from complication of age. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday, Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon. Arrangements by Stewart Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Gillick of Cedar Rapids and Mary Sue Rife of Vinton; and a son, Clarence Miller of San Diego, Calif. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Mildred was born July 30, 1909, in Dows, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Minnie Duttelier McPike. She married Alvin Miller on Sept. 4, 1937. He died in 1975. Mildred worked in Killian's Tea Room and also in housekeeping at Meth-Wick Manor/The Meth-Wick Community and St. Luke's Hospital. Mildred's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to The Essence of Life Hospice Care and to Colonial Manor Care Center for the great and loving care they gave to Our Mother. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name and may be directed to the family.
