WILLISTON, N.D. - Edward Kalabza, 61, of Williston, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Williston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Williston. The Rev. Morris Kirchhof will officiate and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Edward D. Kalabza was born March 1, 1938, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, and spent the early part of his life there. He then attended school in Sawyer and graduated from Sawyer High School in the Class of 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1960 through 1964 and was stationed in Germany. He then spent two years in the Army Reserve before returning to the Max community to begin farming. On June 1, 1974, he was united in marriage with Rose Dahl in Williston. They established their home in Williston and continued to live here through the many succeeding years. In 1973, he began driving over the road for Bauste Livestock and later for E.W. Wylie Trucking out of Fargo.

Edward is survived by his wife, Rose of Williston; his daughter, Gerri, at home; three sons, Mark and Randy, both of Williston and Bryan Marten of Minot; five grandchildren, Dani, Brady, Jayden, Dominek and Crystal; and two sisters, Linda Krueger and Faye Herzog, both of Minot. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Stanley Kalabza and one brother, Jim. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Everson Funeral Home in Williston.
