JANESVILLE, Wisconsin — Irma Billie L. Howell, 84, of Janesville, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Eagle Grove, IA, on Aug. 23, 1920, daughter of George and Tillie (Pohlman) Olson, and was a graduate of Eagle Grove High School. Billie married Leonard Howell on May 23, 1970, in Fort Atkinson; he preceded her in death on June 11, 1996. She had been employed as an inspector for 20 years at Thomas Industries before retiring in 1972. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Women of the Moose, Academy of Friendship Committee, College of Regent Committee, and enjoyed ceramic classes and visiting at the Senior Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy MacDonald of Janesville; a son, Richard (Rosemary) Krueger of Wisconsin Rapids; 2 stepdaughters, Barbara (Ronald) Schuler of Madison and Betty (Robert) Schultz of Waukesha; a stepson, William (Estella) Howell of Union Grove; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her special dog, Ginger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Terry Krueger; brother, Cecil Olson; and 2 sisters, Hazel Ballard and Arvella Wooster. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, (Billie’s birthday) at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Doug Dowling officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. where a Women of the Moose service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A special thank you to her caregivers, Heather and Doug Hearn at The Heartwarming House, for giving special love and care to Billie in her final months. The family wishes to thank Dr. Dan Peterson and the staff at Mercy Hospital. We also wish to express our thanks and gratitude to Dr. Daniel Staddler, who touched her life and spirit in so many ways.
