29 OCT 1900 -- 13 JAN 1920

At the home of Mr. Ed Queary, of near Livermore, Iowa, on the evening of January 19th occured the death of his son Ernest Milford, who was born Oct. 28, 1900 being at the time of his death aged 19 years, 2 months, and 21 days. Thus at the very threshold of young manhood he was called by the hand of death. Ernest had gone to Kansas City about the 1st of December to take a course instruction in an Automobile School in which he had spent only a few days when he was taken sick with scarlet fever. He was sent to the hospital where he remained until January 13th when he was discharged to return home where he arrived on the 14th of Janurary. Having caught cold before starting home and getting worse on the way, when he reached home his desease soon developed into pneumonia with nephritis which proved fatal on the evening of the 19th. Ernest was a bright cheerful young man and his death coming so soon after that of his brother Clarence, was a severe blow on the home. He is survived by his father and sister and a large number of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held on Thursday January 22nd. Among the many floral offerings was a large pillow which was especially beautiful. The four young men who acted as pallbearers for Clarence, also officiated in the same capacity for Ernest. Internment was made in Vernon Cemetery.
