Renwick Times, Iowa, April 1895

DIED-QUEARY--Near Renwick, Wednesday April 3, 1895, of pneumonia, Annie E., wife of W.B. Queary, aged 45 years. Mrs. Annie E. Queary was born in Macoupin Co., Illinois, April 13, 1850 and died near Renwick, in Wright County, April 3, 1895. She was the 10th child of Mr. and Mrs. Jeramiah Bruce. Her mother died when she was 4 years old, thus losing the fostering care of a loving mother in childhood. On October 10, 1865 she was married to W.B. Queary at Macon, Ill., where they found a home until 1890, when they moved to Coles Col, and thence to Iowa, settling near Renwick. There were born to them 8 children who survive the loving mother. Two sons, Edward R. and George A. and six daughters, Lucertia J. Rowley, May A. Beals, Ida M., Ella N., Annie E. and Nina A., with the husband to mourn thier loss. Mrs. Queary joined the M.E. Church in 1893 and has ever since been a faithful member. She was used to trials and afflictions, losing three brothers in the Civil War. She was just rejoicing over a husband and three daughters who have this winter began to walk the Christian life with her, when she was stricken with pneumonia and in 13 days Death claimed her for his own. She showed remarkable courage in the last hours- folding her hands and with eyes fixed toward the Holy City, a smile spread over her features as she sweetly fell asleep. Truly a mother in Israel has gone home to tell the gladness that new friends have found in Christ. Rev. H.L. Case officiated at the funeral, which was held at Goldfield yesturday afternoon. He spoke from Psalms 35:14. "As one that mourneth for his mother."
