Nina Knight, 83, of Fort Dodge, died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center two hours before the service.

Nina Gladene Bailey, daughter of Chester and Elma Paulson Bailey, was born February 26, 1923 at Minerva, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove high school in 1941. She worked as a secretary and teaching associate at Webster City. On June 14, 1942, she married Walter Henry Pfaffenbach at Webster City. Mr. Pfaffenbach died in October of 1944 in Dutch New Guinea from a military explosion. On January 6, 1947, she married Lyden Knight at Des Moines. The couple farmed in the Clarion, Webster City, Thor and Dows areas. In 1968, the family moved to Webster City. They retired in 1972 and moved to Fort Dodge in 1977. Mr. Knight died August 5, 1982. She continued to reside at Fort Dodge until 2004 when she moved to her son’s home north of Vincent.

Nina is survived by her son, Walter (Steven) Pfaffenbach of Vincent; a number of “adopted” grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Heim of Humboldt; Marjorie Cobb of Fort Dodge; sister-in-law, Maxine Bailey of Eagle Grove; daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Mourlam of Webster City. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul William Knight in 1978; her parents; daughter-in-law, Connie Pfaffenbach; sister, Ilene Robertson; brother, William Bailey.
