BELMOND - Funeral services for Lloyd Miller Lerdal, 93, of Belmond, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond, with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Interment will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Tenold Funeral Home in Belmond, with a 6:30 p.m. Masonic service. There will be additional visitation one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
Lloyd Miller Lerdal, the son of Ole and Anna (Skiye) Lerdal was born July 6, 1907, near Goldfield. He was baptized and confirmed at the Lake Lutheran Church in Renwick and graduated from high school in Goldfield. On Aug. 28, 1926, Lloyd was united in marriage to Ruby Knutson in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. They farmed near Goldfield and moved to a farm in Belmond in 1941. They operated the Standard Oil station in Belmond from 1952 until their retirement in 1973. Lloyd was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, had been a member of the Belmond Chamber of Commerce and was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Lloyd died on Friday (Aug. 25, 2000) at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond.
Those thankful for sharing his life are his sons, Kenneth Lerdal and his wife, Marlene, of Thornton, Roland "Bud" Lerdal and his wife, Carol, of Berne, Ind., and Robert "Bob" Lerdal and his wife, Diane, of New London; daughters, Jan Meints and her husband, Glenn "Moo," of Belmond and Beverly Lande and her husband, Jim, of Sumner; grandchildren, Terry Lerdal and his wife, Deb, Linda Manasco and her husband, Glenn, Roger Lerdal and his wife, Barb, Janet Nellist and her husband, Scott, Judy Lerdal, Michael J. Lerdal, Becky Arthur and her husband, Rodney, Pam Rogers and her husband, Steve, Cindy Kinn and her husband, Tom, Lloyd Lande, Laura Grimm, Lisa Smith and her husband, Mark, Tom Lerdal, Greg Lerdal and his wife, Shelly and Richard Lerdal; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Orten Lerdal, of Goldfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby, in 1996; two sons in infancy, Richard and Roger; son, Tom; grandson, Alan Lee; great-granddaughter, Kimberly; daughter-in-law, Shirley; three sisters, Myrtle, Lillian and Helen; and two brothers, Joe and Verner.
