Betty M. Rumme, 81, died February 26, 2007, at Calvin Community. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Westover Funeral Home. Betty Rier was born March 18, 1925 in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Ella Rier. She graduated from Clarion High School where she was a member of the State and National Champion 1939 Clarion High School Band. She attended AIB in Des Moines and worked at Wright Patterson airbase during WW II. On July 28, 1946, she married Carl A Rumme in Fort Dodge, IA. Carl preceded her in death in October 2000. She is survived by two sons, Allen of Los Lunas, NM and Bill of Polk City, IA; a sister, Bev Melhus of Eagle Grove, IA and a brother, Bob Rier of Clarion, IA. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2007, at Westover Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Calvin Community.
