Sharon J. Schmidt, born February 5, 1941 in Wright County, Iowa, to Maurice E. and Myrtle B. Hacker Spires, passed away February 22, 2007 after a courageous battle against cancer. Sharon will be remembered for her dignity, style and perseverance. She was raised by her grandmothers in Iowa and Minnesota before moving to Arizona in 1963. She was employed at several financial institutions over the years, but GreenTree Financial was where she made a life long connection and will be fondly remembered by many.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Ray of 41 years and brother, James Spires of Belfair, Washington. Also surviving is a nephew, Mark Spires and family. A service in celebration of Sharon's life will be held on Wednesday February 28, 2007 at 6:00 PM with a service at 7:00 PM at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald in Mesa. Interment will be private.
