Robert B. 'Buck' Nielsen

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Robert B. "Buck" Nielsen, 56, of Santa Ana, formerly of Rowan and Belmond, Iowa, passed away Aug. 23, 1997, at the Carehouse Convalescent Center in Santa Ana. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, Iowa, with the Rev. Joan Skyrme officiating. Private inurnment will be in Graceland Cemtery, Rowan, Iowa. The body has been cremated.

Robert, the son of Arthur J. And Naida B. Waddington Nielsen, was born June 16, 1941, in Belmond, Iowa. He grew up and attended school in Rowan, Iowa. Buck enlisted in the United States Navy in 1959 and served until 1965. After leaving the Navy, he worked for a time in Belmond, Iowa. Buck then moved to Santa Ana, where he owned and operated heavy equipment working in construction for the past 30 years. Robert is survived by a brother, Dale Nielsen, of Anoka, Minn.; a niece, Tracy; and a nephew, Todd. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
