Frances L. Mallett, 90, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at Jerseyville [Illinois] Nursing & Rehab Center. Born on June 13, 1915, in Goldfield, Iowa, she was the daughter of Richard C. and Lola Mary (Wilson) Burns. She married Edgar Mallett on Dec. 31, 1949, in Pittsfield. He died on Sept. 25, 1968. She was a homemaker and an in-house health care provider. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Jerseyville. Survivng are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ralph and Leva Burns of Jerseyville, Wayne Burns of Denver, Colo., and Thomas and Joan Burns of Los Angeles, Calif.; one niece, Sheila Depper; and one nephew, Scott Burns. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and five brothers. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dow Southern Baptist Church Building Fund.
