Carl M. Austin Sr., 46, died Dec. 11, 2000, in Victorville. Born in Robinson, Ill., he lived in Victorville for all of his three years in California. He was a service technician for two years at AM PM Heating & Air Co., serving the High Desert in many homes and businesses. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years. He is survived by his sons Carl M. Austin Jr., Kevin M. Austin and Arthur W. Austin all of Eagle Grove, Iowa; mother Shirley of Grinnell, Iowa; father Wayne of Indiana; sisters Leanne Sutliff of Grinnell, Iowa, and Kathy Hoalt of Illinois; and brother Jeffrey of Arizona. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Desert View Chapel in Victorville. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the same location. Burial will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Desert View Mortuary in Victorville is handling arrangements.
