Walter Parrish 01-25-2007

Born Oct. 1, 1943, in Clarion, he was the son of Walter L. and Reva Tyrell Parrish. On Oct. 13, 1997, he married Sandra Sue Ireland in Denmark. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He attended Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion and NRA. Survivors include his wife; one stepson, Jason Peitz of Iowa City; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Peitz of Fort Madison; two sisters, Edyth Moe of Belmond and Eudora Parrish of Van Nuys, Calif.; nieces; and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Visitation with family will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ.

The funeral for Mr. Parrish will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ with the Revs. Barbara Koenig-Byorum and W. Michael Biklen officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Inurnment will be in Soldiers' Circle in Oakland Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Fort Madison Veterans Honor Guard. Santa Fe United Methodist Church will host a luncheon for family and friends following the services. A memorial has been established. King-Lynk Funeral Home of Fort Madison assisted the family with arrangements.
