Cynthia "Cid" Godfrey Metcalf, 59, [of Boone], died on February 6, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be Saturday, February 10, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Graveside services and burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Cid was born in Fort Dodge on May 3, 1947, the daughter of Robert and Doris (Prehm) Godfrey of Eagle Grove. She married Dan Metcalf in Spencer on August 31, 1980. Cid worked in the accounting department at the Boone County Hospital in Boone for 35 years. Cid is survived by her husband, Dan of Boone; three sisters, Connie (Jim) Jorgensen of Eagle Grove, Bonnie Sunner of Clear Lake, and Mary (Mark) Hogenson of Cedar Rapids; and nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. where the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Boone Area Humane Society.

Cynthia "Cid" Irene Godfrey Metcalf, age 59, of 1358 Nook Place in Boone, passed away on February 6, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines after a short illness. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 10, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets with Rev. Paul Fraser officiating. Graveside services and burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday where Rev. Mary Green will officiate. Cid was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on May 3, 1947, the daughter of Robert and Doris (Prehm) Godfrey of Eagle Grove. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1966. She has been a long time resident of Boone, where she worked in the accounting department at the Boone County Hospital for 35 years. Cid married Dan Metcalf in Spencer on August 31, 1980. She and Dan enjoyed many great times attending their nieces' and nephews' sporting events. Cid loved the Oakland Raiders, NASCAR racing, especially watching Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Kasey Kahne, fishing with family, camping, going to Tama, watching the NCAA tournaments, her flower garden, and taking care of her dogs. She especially enjoyed sharing "parenthood" with all of her nieces and nephews who loved to be with "Aunt Cid".

Cid is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Dan of Boone; three sisters, Connie Jorgensen and husband, Jim of Eagle Grove, Bonnie Sunner of Clear Lake, and Mary Hogenson and husband, Mark of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Jim R. Jorgensen, Mark Jorgensen, and Chet Hogenson; nieces, Kim Crum, Becky Sunner, Gail Sunner, and Erin Hogenson; and several great and great great nieces and nephews. Cid was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Doris Godfrey; mother-in-law, Genevieve "Pat" Metcalf; a brother-in-law, Gordon Sunner; and nephew, Bret Sunner.

Friends may call Friday at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to the time of service. Memorials may be given to the Boone Area Humane Society.
