Norman T. Peer, 90, of Renwick, died Tuesday (June 13, 2006) at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, at the Renwick United Methodist Church in Renwick with Pastor Dale Schoening officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Renwick with a 7 p.m. Masonic service. Norman Tanck Peer was born on July 3, 1915, at Renwick, Iowa to James I. and Lora C. Tanck Peer. He received his education at Renwick, graduating from the Renwick High School. After his schooling, Norman helped his parents on the farm. Norman was married to Irene Larsen on November 26, 1938 at Goldfield, Iowa. The couple farmed near Hardy, Iowa for 7 years, then moved to Norman’s grandparents’ farm south of Renwick. Norman and Irene farmed there until 1979, when they moved into Renwick. Norman continued helping with the farm operation until shortly before his death. Norman was a 50 Year member of the Renwick United Methodist Church, where he had served on the Church Board. He was a member of Viona Lodge #538 A.F. & A.M. in Renwick, where he had received his 50 Year Membership pin in 1997. He was Past Master of the Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and was Past Grand Marshall of the Grand Lodge of Iowa. He was also a District Lecturer and Masonic Instructor. Norman was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and was Past Worthy Patron. Norman served on various local boards and councils including; Bank Board, Elevator Board, School Board, City Council and the Rural Light Line. Norman enjoyed fishing and spent many enjoyable hours at the Lake of the Woods in Baudette, Minnesota. Norman was a good citizen and he loved his country. He led a good, honorable life, filled with love, service and sacrifice.

He died on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion, Iowa. He was 90.
Norman is survived by his wife, Irene of Renwick, Iowa, his sister, Carmen P. Loux, Sheldon, Iowa and his sister-in-law, LaVonne Peer, Yankton, South Dakota. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Corwin C. Peer.
