Merlin C. Bobst, 75, of Clarion, died Monday (Nov. 25, 1996) at his home. Funeral services with military honors by the Clarion American Legion, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Willim Funeral Home, with Mark Young officiating. Family burial services will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. There will be no visitation. Merlin C. Bobst was born May 2, 1921, in Alexander. Survivors include one daughter, Karen Hotchiss of Dallas, N.C.; two sons, Jerry Payton of Belmond, and Michael Bobst of Des Moines; one sister, Wilma Thompson of Eagle Grove; 13 grandchildren;and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
