Pearl E. Derscheid,90, of Mercy Hallmar Care Center, died there Friday, Aug. 13, 1993, after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Kastler Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Surviving is a sister, Helen and her husband, Milton, of Iowa City, and many nieces and nephews.

Born Feb. 14, 1903, in Eagle Grove, she had been a resident of Cedar Rapids since 1938. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and taught first grade in the Maynard and Oelwein schools. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elizabeth's Circle of United Methodist Women, Meth-Wick Manor Auxiliary and a lifetime member of St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
