Amelia Caroline Howard, 92, died on Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 10, at the Morgan United Methodist Church in Dows. Amelia was born on May 4, 1912, to Albert and Emma Lottmann Fink in Gerold, Missouri. She married Charles Howard on February 18, 1931 at Webster City. They lived in Webster City and Dows.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles in 1978; sister, Evelyn; and brothers, Henry, Harold, Howard, Richard and Robert. Survivors are her children, Mabel Lambertsen of Hampton, Donald (Shelly) Howard of Dows, Homer (Linda) Howard of Dows, Linda (Gary) Sheridan of Cannon Falls, Minnesota and Mary Howard of Dows; sisters, Delores Crawford of Iowa Falls and Dorothy Eriksen of Dows; and brother, George Fink.

Amelia Caroline Howard, 92, of Dows, died on Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 10, at the Morgan United Methodist Church in Dows. Pastor David Gobeli officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Interment was in the Morgan Cemetery, Dows.

Amelia Caroline Fink, was born on May 4, 1912 in Gerold, Missouri, the daughter of Albert and Emma Lottmann Fink. She was the oldest of nine children. Amelia was baptized at the Methodist Church in Williams. She grew up in the Williams area and attended the Williams School. On February 18, 1931, Amelia was united in marriage with Charles Howard in Webster City. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Webster City for several years. They moved to Dows and purchased a farm in 1943. It was there the couple farmed and raised their family. Charles passed away in 1978, at which time Amelia moved to her present home in Dows. Amelia and Charles loved spending time at their cabin in Minnesota. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking and is fondly remembered for her cinnamon rolls. She was a member of the Morgan United Methodist Church and the Legion Auxiliary in Dows.

Amelia is survived by five children, Mabel Howard Lambertsen of Hampton, Donald Howard and wife, Shelly of Dows, Homer Howard and wife, Linda of Dows, Linda Sheridan and husband, Gary of Cannon Falls, Minnesota and Mary Howard of Dows; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Crawford of Iowa Falls and Dorothy Eriksen of Dows; one brother, George Fink and wife, Clara Bell of Montezuma, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles in 1978; one sister, Evelyn; five brothers, Henry, Harold, Howard, Richard and Robert.
