Benjamin Joseph Perry, 22, of Belmond, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2003, at home. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 27, at the Alexander United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tony Hershey officiating. Music was provided by Carol Richards, organist. Casket bearers were Craig Hill, Chris Perry, Tom Connell, Art Perry, John Messick and Steve Perry. Ushers were Marvin Draper and Dallas Shear. Interment was in the Belmond Cemetery.
Ben, the son of Duane and Debra Perry, was born on January 4, 1981, at the Belmond Hospital. He grew up in Belmond and graduated from the Belmond-Klemme High School in 1999. Ben cooked at the Eaton Cafeteria and at Baumer's Grill while in school. After graduation, he worked for Eaton in Belmond and was currently employed by EDS in Clarion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with friends. Ben was a member of the Boy Scouts.
Ben is survived by his parents; sister, Emily and her fiancée, Rob Lamfers Hill of Belmond; maternal grandparents, W. Harry and Doris Hill of Alexander; paternal grandparents, Vernon and Elaine Perry of Waucoma; aunts and uncles, Craig and Deb Hill of Alexander, Suzanne and John Messick of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Carla Roberts of Garner, Janeen and Tom Connell of Cedar Falls, Kathy Parker of Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin, Chris and Donna Perry of Mason City and Art and Beth Perry of Waucoma.
