George Sharp, 57, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2003. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 2, in Boone with burial at a later date. George was born in Clarion on September 29, 1946, the son of Willard and Grace (Cook) Sharp. He graduated from the Clarion High School in 1964 and married Dianne Smith at Red Oak in 1968. He was an industrial arts teacher in Belmond for one year. He also taught at S.E. Polk, Boone and DMACC. He is survived by his wife of Boone; two sons; a daughter; a brother; two sisters; and two grandchildren.

BooneGeorge Sharp, 57, died November 25, 2003. His body has been cremated atn memorial services will be Tuesday, December 2 at 11 a.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
George was born in Clarion on September 29, 1946, the son of William and Grace (Cook) Sharp. He graduated from Clarion High School in 1964. On December 22, 1968 he married Dianne Smith at Red Oak.
George attended Eagle Grove Community College and then Iowa State University graduating in 1968 with his B.S. Degree in Industrial Education.
In 1975 he received his Masters Degree from Iowa State. In earlier years while living in Clarion, Des Moines, West Des Moines, and Altoona, he was an industrial arts instructor at Belmond Community Schools and Southeast Polk Community Schools. He moved to Boone in 1973 and was an auto mechanics instructor at Boone High School and Des Moines Area Community College in the adult education program. He retired in 1998 due to health reasons.
He was a member of the Lions Club, the Iowa State Education Association, Masons, First United Methodist Church of Boone and Boone Bass Masters.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne of Boone; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Sarah Sharp of Boone and Andrew and Myriah Sharp of Radcliffe; one daughter, Julie Sharp of Boone; one brother, Frank Sharp and his wife, Christy of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Carolyn Sweet and husband, Gerald of Ely and Janet Hensen and husband, James of Burnet, TX and two grandchildren, Autumn and Kyle Sharp. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday where the family will be present to greet from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday from 8 a.m. until services time. Memorials may be given to the family to establish a memorial fund in the name of George Sharp. His eyes were gifted to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.
