Billy Dean Duay, 72, of Anamosa, died on Tuesday, September 23, 2003, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 26, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa, with interment in the Cass Cemetery, rural Anamosa.

Billy was born on April 26, 1931 at Ft. Dodge, the son of Joseph Henry and Ruth Cecil Malle Duay. He attended college in California and received his Seminary Degree from the North American Seminary in Sioux Falls. He later received a PhD in Psychology from the Claremont Graduate School in California. Billy pastored churches for 47 years in Iowa, Wyoming, California and Nebraska. On May 1, 1984, while serving in Belmond, he married his wife, Debbie. In 1987 they moved to Anamosa, where he served as Senior Minister of the First Congregational United Church of Christ until his death.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael (Cheryl) of Utah and Troy of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Karla (Jerry) Corrick of Colorado, Trisha (James) Meyers of Cedar Rapids and Jane Ferry of California; and a sister, Shirliee Schlenker. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe and Cyril; sister, Ruth; his first wife, Betty; daughter, Sally; grandson, Jason; father-in-law, Billy Schuver; and brother-in-law, Larry Schuver.
