Iola Grimm, 88, of Kanawha, died on Friday, September 5, 2003, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 9, at the Kanawha Lutheran Church, with burial in the Norway Township Cemetery. Iola, the daughter of Torres and Anna Asbe Wicks, was born on March 26, 1915 south of Kanawha. She graduated from the Clarion High School in 1932. On July 19, 1934, Iola married Walter Grimm at River Falls, Wisconsin. The couple moved back to the Kanawha area where they farmed until they retired. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; five sisters; and three brothers. Iola is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Jock) Stevenson of Cedar Rapids; sons, Howard (Deloris) Grimm of Council Bluffs, Thomas (Sandy) Grimm of Brainerd, Minnesota, Terry (Julie) Grimm of Garner and Robert (Sharon) Grimm of Kanawha.

Iola Grimm, 88, of Kanawha, died on Friday, September 5, 2003, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 9, at the Kanawha Lutheran Church, Kanawha. The Rev. Dr. John Meyer and Janelle Siffring, AiM, officiated. Music was provided by organist, Marllyn DeKruyff, who accompanied soloist, Joleen Rolland and congregational hymns. Carroll Burras and Kenny Kraft ushered.Casket bearers were Todd Grimm, Tracy Grimm, Tommy Grimm, Chad Grimm, Tyler Grimm and Trevor Grimm. Burial was in the Norway Township Cemetery, Kanawha. The Ewing-Dugger Funeral Home of Kanawha was in charge of the arrangements.
Iola Grimm, the daughter of Torres and Anna Asbe Wicks, was born on March 26, 1915 south of Kanawha. She attended Clarion Schools and graduated from the Clarion High School in 1932. On July 19, 1934, Iola was united in marriage to Walter Grimm at River Falls, Wisconsin. The couple moved back to the Kanawha area where they farmed until they retired. Iola was baptized and confirmed at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church near Kanawha and later a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Deanna Stevenson and her husband, Jock of Cedar Rapids; four sons, Howard Grimm and his wife, Deloris of Council Bluffs, Thomas Grimm and his wife, Sandy of Brainerd, Minnesota, Terry Grimm and Julie of Garner and Robert Grimm and his wife, Sharon of Kanawha; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; five sisters; and three brothers.
