Ruth Nau Brandmeyer, 85, died on Friday, August 1, 2003, at the Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, at the Elliott Chapel in New London, with burial in the Long Creek Cemetery in Danville.

Ruth was born on February 16, 1918 in Burlington, the daughter of Cleaver and Cliffie Windland Nau. She graduated from the Danville High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College. She was married to A. V. Brandmeyer for 25 years. Ruth worked as a Librarian in Belmond, with student housing at Luther and Simpson Colleges, and for Cargill in Des Moines. Survivors include her sons, Stan (Vivian) of Boone, Randy (Jacquie) of Cotati, California and Blair (Cyndi) of Story City; and sisters, Georgiana Young of New London and Gerry Boland of Williamsburg.
