Iliah Ione Sorenson, of Kanawha, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2003. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 2, at the Kanawha United Methodist Church, with burial in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Kanawha.

Iliah was born on April 24, 1917 at Des Moines, the daughter of James and Hazel Kale Maddick. She was raised in Kanawha. She married Fred Loeffler, in 1936. They had two sons. They farmed near Kanawha and later Belmond. They owned Freddie's Cafe in Kanawha and Iliah worked at Kessler Drug and Gordon's Greenhouse, both of Belmond. Fred died in 1952. Iliah married Lewis Sorenson, in 1954. They had one daughter. They farmed near Belmond and later Iliah and her daughter moved to Kanawha.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; sons, Ronald and Jackie; and sister, Vivian Wicks. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (James) Weiss of Kanawha; sister, Vera (Clarence) Abbas of Kanawha; brothers-in-law, Herbert Wicks of California, Karl (Phyllis) Loeffler of Florida, Paul Rogalla of Belmond and Don (Mary) Thompson of Belmond; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Zeiger of Belmond.
