Evelyn Marie Obrecht, 82, of Belmond, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 4, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond, with Father David Beckman and Deacon Nick Schmit officiating. Burial was in the St. Francis Cemetery, Belmond.

Evelyn Marie, daughter of Justin and Julia Kiplinger Lowenberg, was born on July 1, 1922 at Goodell. She attended school in Belmond. She married Edward (Moke) Obrecht on April 13, 1941 in Albert Lea, and they made their home in Belmond.
Evelyn was a devout member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her "supreme pizzas". Many friends and relatives enjoyed coffee with Ev when she served homemade goodies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Greg; daughter-in-law, Deb (Ellingston) Obrecht; great-granddaughter, Kylie Little; five brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include children, Dean Obrecht of Mason City, Dana Obrecht of Warrensburg, Missouri, DaLon (Sue) Obrecht of Belmond and Denise (Keith) Mayer of Osage; grandchildren, Daryn Obrecht of Austin, Texas, Brad (Laura) Mayer of Spirit Lake, Jennifer (Steve) Little of Andover, Minnesota, Staci Mayer of Ankeny, Joshua (Cory) Obrecht of Bondurant, Melissa (Jon) Barkema of Bondurant, Jeff, David and Katie Obrecht of Belmond; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Little, Gabriel Barkema, Kinnick Obrecht and Tysen Barkema; brothers, Richard (Muriel) Lowenberg of Anaheim, California and Raymond (Millie) Lowenberg of Belmond.
