Ilo Marie Smock, 95, of Belmond, died on Monday, February 21, 2005, at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m., at the Belmond Evangelical Free Church, with Rev. Patrick Kennedy officiating. Burial was in the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme. The Dugger Ewing Funeral Home of Belmond was in charge of the arrangements.

Ilo, the daughter of Levi and Esther Sampson Klotzbach, was born on October 16, 1909 in Giard, Iowa. She attended a country school in Froelich. In 1928 she married William Anderson. In 1939 she married Leslie Smock. They made their home in the Klemme and Kanawha area where Ilo worked as a waitress and in a bakery. Leslie died in 1962 and Ilo moved to Wisconsin in 1964. Since 2001 she resided in the Belmond Care Center. Ilo enjoyed knitting, crocheting, growing flowers and working in the garden. She especially loved fishing in Canada with her family. She was also a member of the Rebekahs, DAV, IOOF, and 4-H.

Ilo was preceded in death by husband, Leslie; daughter, Doreen Winterhalter; son, Noel Anderson; brothers, Walter and Alan Klotzbach; and her parents. Ilo is survived by sons, Willis (Charlene) Anderson, George Anderson, Darrel (Judy) Smock and Leslie (Cathy) Smock; daughter, Sheryl (George) Dean; grandchildren, Dayle, Vicki, George, Teri, Janet, Ricky, Sheri, Leslie, Mark, Paul, Julie, Brian, Danny, Shelly, Charlette, Ryan, Karrol, Richard, Amy, Michelle, Shawn, Patrick, Barry, and Amy; fifty-five great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd Klotzbach and Louis (Janet) Klotzbach; and sister, Phyllis Wilhite.
