Gladys Lucille Henn, 94, died March 12, 2006 at the Sheffield Care Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. March 15 at Immanuel Reformed Church near Belmond with Rev. Rob Ford and Rev. Kent Mechler officiating. Interment will be at the Immanuel Cemetery. Gladys was born March 19, 1911, the eldest child of Edward and Alice (Hoffman) Duregger Sr., on a small acreage near Brazil, IN. She lived in Iowa and Indiana, moving to Belmond after marrying John Henn on Sept. 8, 1932. They farmed and then moved to Clear Lake in 1964. She worked at Ben Franklin, JC Penney, assisted her husband with auctions, and helped in her father's antique shop. Gladys' hobbies included fancy work crafts and making quilts for her grandchildren. She was active in her church at Belmond and was famous for her baking and cooking. She enjoyed dancing at the White Pier and later the Surf, and traveling to family special occasions. After being hospitalized in 1993, she resided at the Sheffield Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1995; sisters Ida Mae and Mary; and brothers Virgil, Albert and Robert. Survivors include sisters Irene Sorenson of Castro Valley, CA and Helen Sorenson of Alden; brothers Larry Duregger of Orlando, FL, Leo (Buddy) Duregger of Clear Lake, Edward Duregger Jr. of Garner and Fred Duregger of Newport News, VA; daughter Marcia (Robert) Koester of Clear Lake; sons John I. (Rejane) Henn of Olathe, KS, Richard (Karen) Henn of Ankeny, and David (Donna) Henn of Iowa City; grandchildren Sheree (Steve) Sturges, Brenda (Fred) Schroeder, Val (John) Hagener, Kristie (Dale) Koenigsberg, Rena (Bill) VanZante, Pascale Henn, Christopher (Velma) Henn, Kevin (Kylie) Henn, Kim (Glenn) Hammer, Kyle (Stacy) Henn, Tony Arn, Adam (Angela) Henn and Stephanie Henn; and 24 great-grandchildren.
